To The Honorable Board
of City Commissioners.
City.

Gentlemen:-

Under date of October 31st 1907, I paid my taxes
to the City, which according to your Collector amounted to
$74.38, less discount of $1.48, being net amount paid by me
of $72.90. At time of paying these taxes I felt same was
excessive, but did not have time to investigate until a
little later. My property consists of J.P. Smith addi-
tion, Block 8, W pt. 4. 43' on W 100 on N 19' on E. I
bought this place in Feby 1907, and at which time there was
only a small dwelling on the lot. Under date of Feby 22nd
1907 I secured a building permit and had a two story house
built on part of that lot, and from investigation I find
that your assessor has assessed me taxes on this house
amounting to $2.850, when in reality it should not have
been made at all, and they will not be due until taxes are
paid this year.

I understand that your charge is $1.75 per hundred,
and as I have paid you on $2.850, which I did not owe, I
respectfully ask that you have a warrant drawn for me for
$49.88, being the amount I over paid.
