CONSTITUTION
ARTICLE V., SECTION 4. The annual dues shall become due for the ensuing year on the fifteenth day of April,
and shall be payable in advance. It shall be the duty of the secretary to notify each member of the amount due for the
ensuing year on or before the first day of April.
Owing to the unusually early date for the convention this year, this notice is sent earlier than customary. And
you are PARTICULARLY REQUESTED TO REMIT AS EARLY AS CONVENIENT. The final year of the associa-
tion ends with the annual conventions, so that were dues paid this year at the usual time it would make a very poor
showing.
Moreover, the money is needed for use before the convention, the association has no resources except the dues paid
by members, which are made to just about cover the expenses. Owing to an unfortunate occurence, we have been one
year behind for several years past, so that the dues paid each year are needed to pay for the printing of the proceedings of the
previous years convention, and to meet the expenses of the next convention and other current expenses. It is hoped that
the small increase in the amount of the annual dues, and the rapid increase in membership will in the next two years put
the association in financial condition to meet all obligations promptly. Meanwhile we must ask for early payment of dues
to meet the necessary operating expenses.
Thanking you in advance for prompt payment of your dues, I remain, yours,
J. M. DIVEN,
Secretary.
