#16 [Hard rain] today 45 Saturday, January 16, 1897 55 up. 8:30 office 9:30 am and began to work on [Real?] [Estate?] [matters?] and my [books?] and hard at it all the morning. To PO at 12 and began No. 16 and [wrote?] [4 pm] Then home thro heavy rain and had dinner and back to my office and at work till [illegible] and then to [illegible] office and home to supper Arguments 8-9 office and issues in [DC No.] 1 and finished [Real?] [Estates?] and left office at 2 am [then P.O.] for home and to bed at 3 am

Cool day 45 Sunday, January 17, 1897 [illegible] up 8 am arrived at church at 11 am [illegible] [illegible] to P.O. and [illegible] to my clerks office and work on no 6 [Then] [to] Capt. Loyd's and home at 2:30 pm dinner then [Mr. C A] came [illegible] and I [illegible] for the [illegible] a strong cold north wind [came] blowing [vestry meeting?] 4 pm back to my office at 5 pm and work until 6 and walked to PO and depot and [worked?] my letters on [corner?] [(Rusk)?] I take [changes?] to 2pm. Home to supper office till 12 am an back to office till after 2 am Home and to bed 2:30 am

[Illegible] Rained and [snowed] all day 36 Tuesday, January 19, 1897 50 up 7:45 am Robert slept in [illegible] room last [night] with [him] at office 9:30 am and [read] papers and then finished Ross's [illegible] up [illegible] and around to his office [illegible] and [then] dinner. Began snowing [illegible] 12:15 pm and snowed hard nearly all the afternoon but it [melted] [rapidly] on the streets and little was left [but] slush by nightfall [report?] on [taxes?] of [houses] and [illegible] fence corners PO 12 [Mr] Turner [illegible] had [illegible] [margins illegible]

Terribly [windy?]and slushy 35 Wednesday, January 20, 1897 50 up 8 am. Eliza [Ord?] not [home] so [Alberta?] had to cook breakfast At my office 9:30 am and read papers and then to P.O. and got my [illegible] 13 [illegible] Mr. J.D [illegible] [Ourah! ?] in my office and then to Mrs. Turner's and found her out so left [illegible] letters with [Sanford?]. Back [hurry?] office [an?] [hour?] to [run?] through [illegible] [illegible]. Back [illegible] office [illegible] 2:30 and finished #18 begun this morning and at 6:15 went to depot and [mailed?] it. Supper [Arguments?] 8:20-9 [his?] office and over Mr. J.D.[illegible] [returning] carbon copy for [illlegible] Home 1:30 and in bed at nearly 2 am

Berensdford [???] headache up 8 am office at 9:30 am and hard at work on [cost?] bills and other matters. [Unique?] came and brought [the 99?] books. To discover at 1:45 pm [Government Examinations?] going on in Courtroom. Down town at [bank?] [?] office and Henderson [overwork?] on words and did not get back to my office until 4 pm and Church work all the afternoon till 6:10 and then wrote the 85. and [?} at 7:30 [?] co 3 others. having [?] [?] go at 7 pm [?] answer. Supper [?]. 8:30 9:30 office ck. 10-1 am [anothers?] [10am?] [side note] found Robert in bar when I went home had been to [?Hunt?] Later [/side note]

Up 9. am. Ch. at 945 am. [? ?] 100 [? ?] [? ?] and I was writing nearly all day on [9v?] and to dinner at 130 and on a bank and back to my of fice at 330 PM and again on [? 9v?] at 6 up town and here [?] for dulces. he found none - so [met?] up [? ?] of [?] and expressed it at 7 PM and then back to my office and finished [9v? ?] and at 740 out to R. I. and recorded it. Then to [Wh El Rish?] and August talked till 930 at [? with ? ? ?] and then to my office and worked until after midnight

Up 8 am office at 930 and busy making up my books for government accts all the morning To dinner at 130 - 230 [?] and then down by my office - and to CH and at work till 330 when Mr Pickens came and I went with him to [Erelbrooks?] and took affidavits of [Erelbrook?] and D [Dreebus?] to [?] [? ?] Then back to my office and finished [?] 96 and to supper 730 PM {and we [?] 3 [?] at 730 after getting dulces and pkg them for expressing tomorrow. Augusts and ^PO 930 my office at 10 am [? ?] - very heavy rain 10-1130 and home and to bed 1 am

awoke at 7am Up at 8 am and at office 915 and Clt at 930 McNamara came to see me about [? lot?] at office ([read?] 101 and 102) and at work on costs all he morning and to dinner 130 - 230 pm and back to my office and hard at work on costs - watched [?] to come over tomorrow afternoon. Geo Parker came in PM for a few moments Wrote no. 97. after [5?] PM and mailed it on R I at 745 Then to Cafe and had [? ? ?] Then to Augusts till 930 and [?] 00 and checked Ron banks unti nearly 1 PM and [? anotated?]

Thursday, April 15, 1897

Awoke at 7 am but did not get up until 8 am at [?] at 915 and Clt at 930and at work on cost [? ?] [?] I [? ?] for him To dinner at 120 230 PM. and found mice had eaten a hole in my coat at my [mice?] every day [cooking?] such of clothes. Back to office at 3 PM and shortly after [? Le...?] came and staid [?] we looking over accts until after 5 PM and then I finished No 98 and mailed it at 740 on R. I. train and then to cafe. and had Chili con carne for supper. Augusts at 845 10 PM and [? on Ron? books?] till 1215

99 Good Friday, April 16, 1897

up 8 AM and at 00 930 and CH at 10 AM and began no 99 and work until 130 PM Then to dinner and [? ? ? ?] and has [?] and Children. Zuanne was at church, up to CH and got blank citations Then on to my O.O. and Heine's tailor-shop and to Hodges office and had a long tallk with him about [JRT??]: Then to CH and wrote out citations and finished no 99. [rapp?] and at 735 out to R. I. and mailed it and then back to office. and [? jury?] 845 Pa. Va. Ont. To supper at [?] and at [?] office & then to bed
