At office all day and Mame and myself there after tea until 10 PM and then home

Laying of corner stone of Mason orphans Home[?]

Saturday, January 7, 1899

at office. Worked hard on accts [?] us, and also had 2 [?] cases one so[?] pleading guilty and the other (craft) set for 10

Mame brot my supper and I finished acct and had attack of grippe-- now [?] took her [?]

Sunday January 8 1899

an hour. Suffered much last night and had head ache this morning. Took phenaadrin and stopped it

In afternoon was [?] main [?] I made out to [?] passing McAlliston and wife [?] [?] and Virginia Burrows down in the bathroom

At night took another hot foot bath by[?] grown [?] and [?] Dovers powders

Monday January 9 1899 M. [Soufft?]

At office and getting up [?] transcripts.[?] all day.

Raining more or less all day and shall be very muddy.

Home at [6 p.m?] worked on [?] books at night

Gen H Hillabry 1"In Vol. who died near Havana, was buried at Jefferson today
