Sherwin Ranch Sunday 6 p.m.

My dear Dedie: Just now getting at letter that I've been trying to find time for for days. Grandma Coffman and I have both been busy as bees. The children take lots of time &, besides regular work, we have been putting up fruit, peaches, pears, plums + tomatoes, also pickling some & some tomato soup. Did you ever try canning soup? I made 10 qts. last yr & find it so convenient for emergencies & I think it is very good too. I'll send my recipe if you'd like to try it. I am also enclosing some snaps. Some did not turn out well & some, not at all. Mr. Coburn took a dozen or more but will not develop

them till near Xmas time. How he loved Margaret & took so many snaps of her. I am sending our menu for the time our guests were here. Not elaborate, but we tried to have everything good. And they seemed to enjoy it, too.

Wee Mrs. C. is a great help to me. Gets up & goes to work early and is so sort O'Morhuly. She stays & gets dinner & takes care of babies & I go to church Sun. morn. & she goes in evening. Tonight, they have all gone to Hollywood to church. Margaret is asleep in hammock and Mary in go-kart. Soon, be time to go in as it is quite cool. I got George's sweater and put it on. It has done me so much good. I would like to have Ida make mine soon & shall ask her too but I do not know what she will say. If she "does not have time," I'll do it myself or get a man's & return this one. We hardly knew George was here. I did not think of his going so early. Wish I could have sent a basket of the dandy peaches. They are fine. Mr. S. will get a box of clings this week & that is all I'll put up. We are going to drive up to Laurel Canyon tomorrow & eat our lunch & come home early. Had two chickens today & kept out enough for the party. A holiday tomorrow. Can't the Grandy's join us?

George was talking about your northern ranch. & Mr. S. said when you moved up there, we would go to see you. He never speaks of going anyplace so I feel in hopes we may get a vacation together some time.

Well, the quarantine has been lifted from that dreadful disease but, of course, people are expected to be very careful. I do hope it is under control.

I wish I could tell you how fine I feel. No aches or pains, (except tender spots in lungs), & not so many weak spells. Gaining flesh, but look a little thin in face, but getting more color altho someone is kind enough to tell me every time I go anyplace that I "look pretty pale, buI have looked paler, don't you think? Mrs. Coffman though I looked bad and is surprised at my appetite. It is great.

I never heard from one of your "ads" or Ida's or mine or Mr. Sherman's. What do you think of that? We answered more than a dozen. I guess we are fixed for quite a while now. Let me hear how you are. Love to all-

Sister Ga.
