Miss Edith I. Hartzell,

136 West Pico Street,
Los Angeles, California.

Dear Miss Hartzell:

Your esteemed favor of May 9th received stating you wish
to take a five year paid-up policy. I guess you mean three
years, as you have paid three year's full premiums, making
your paid up policy $225; but you can get a loan on this policy
of $64.00, which would carry your premium for another year
and the balance paid to you. However, if you are sure you
cannot keep up the policy it would be better to take the paid
up policy, and if you send you policy in I will have the change
made for you. I prefer to do this for you rather than have
you see the people in your city.

Of course your policy will be in force thirty days from
the date the premium falls due, June 4th, which will carry it
until July 4th, but you had better send your policy in so we
can get it through in time unless you decide to take a loan;
but in any event you would have to send your policy in.

Awaiting your reply, I remain,
Yours very respectfully,
[NH?] McManus
General Agent.
