Dear ones at Arcadia:

I arrived here, right side up,
with care, at 4'30 o'clock in the
rain. It rained here most all
day. It rained part of the way
up here. It begain to rain just
as the train left Santa B[]dra, [illegible, but probably mispelled Barbara].
It looks as if it was going
to clear off. I hope so, for it
makes to so gloomy and lonesome
when it rains.

Well, the lumber has not come
yet, so I guess it is a case of
lay off for a few days.
I wish I had of s[t]ayed there
for a few days longer.
I wish you would see
Mr. Bertlenia and have him
