help us to eat, [rosting ears ?], and go with us to so many nice places. Suppose you know Dora Hawkins was married? Had a quiet wedding. We had a, [load ?], here one wk. ago last Sun night. I was nearly ready for bed when a knock was herd, [sic], at the sitting room door. I opened the door and there stood a bashful looking boy who asked, "can you marry a couple tonight?" Of course, "yes," was the reply and they were made man and wife and we were $3. better off. We have had three additions to the church since we came here. We like the place and the people. I have more church work to do here than where we were. Now, I could tell you lots if you were home, and I want you to write just as soon as you can. No difference if you do write in bed, I can read it. I write with baby in my arms and she pushs and pulls my paper. I doubt if you can read this. Good night. I am tired and ready to retire. Lovingly, Alice

Dear Cousin Edith: I believe I wrote you the last letter, but as you do not write, I will try again. Today, we washed and I am trying to get past of a big ironing done this afternoon and that is the way from day to day. But about three days out of a wk. is all I get for to work for myself. We have been to Uncle Jim's and Frank's and, day after tomorrow, we are to start for New Lisbon. Will stay all night in Salem

at Y-Next wk. Lettie Craft is to be with us. We were out to N. Benton and put up at Lettie's during the Convention. She is now at Y., [clerking ?] will be with us a wk. I expect we are going to take her out to widow Nebbs, who had an only child, (a son). She is said to be worth from $2,5000. $7,5000 and is a member of our church. Lettie says she will mash him. Next yr., he is to be one of Hiram College's highest graduates. Grant and I expect to spend part of a wk. at the same college at the ministerial convention and will be away evry wk. from now until fall, if nothing happens. Aunt May says John's wife is as, [poor ?], as a shadow, is in very poor health. Oh, E., how much I wanted to see you and wish you could see our dear baby while she is a baby, for I realize she is fast leaving babyhood. She is 8 mon., 1wk and 1 day and she sits alone, can roll and almost pull herself up on her feet. Has said papa for about a mon. Has two teeth and, it seems to me, that there never could be a cuter child. Lettie and many others says she is the sweetest child they ever seen, but, of course, I am like all other mothers can see what others would not. Wish you could be here in

I can't go to a place, it seems, but I find someone I know. I learned at Bracevill that S.J. Pierce is in Cleveland connected with the railway office business. You may run across him some time in Cleveland. If you do try and break his heart, he is yet unmarried. I have not heard from your folks for a long time. We just got home last night and, this afternoon, our C.W.B.M. Socy meets at a sisters about three mi. in the country where supper will be served for all the church that will come and it is already late to get ready to go. Tomorrow, we are to go to Austentown for over Sun. Do you think we go enough? Etheline Well has four little teeth and is sweetest than ever. She is creeping. Her Papa gives her walking lessons every night we are at home but, don't allow her to have near all her weight on her feet. I must close. Will try and write more another time. With love and, [ ?], will close. Hoping to hear from you soon. Alice

Dear Cousin Edith: Your kind letter received some time ago and have put off, from time to time, to answer it until I, today, resolved that I would begin, at once, to write if I did not get it finished today. I hope you are well. Don't suppose you got any cholera cases in the [ H ?]. Hope you will be out of that again next summer. Will you? Seeing and being with Edith seems like a dream of the past. Oh, how I long to have you with us,

If you could only have been with us this fall to have enjoyed the good conventions. Last wk., we were at Braceville to our county, (church), conv. and oh, what a feast of good things for both mind and body. There was Rev. Anderson of Youngstown, Rev Vanhorn, Rev of Warren, Rev Wilcox Rev of Cleveland, a number of profs. from Hiram College and plenty of little preachers, such as G. E. Pike. Our dinners were served in the church yard under canvas. My, what a feast! This wk., we were at a conv. at Niles. It was another good one. Had a number of very able speakers. We went the evening of the first day and as soon as it was over, up came one of Mrs., { ?son's], old girls who wanted me to go home with her. At first, I did not know her but she told me who she was and that she had married and to make it the more strange, her husband was and old acquaintance of Mr. Pike's. So we accepted the invitation and remained with them during our stay. You remember that Dr. Williams wanted to go with me at New Lisbon Fair. He is married and living there. We called on him. And Birth Gallegar of Mt Union is married to a Mr. Jhonson who is the manager of the Sanitarium at Nyles and lives there.
