I can't go to a place, it seems,
but I find someone I know.
I learned at Bracevill that
S.J. Pierce is in Cleveland
connected with the railway
office business. You may
run across him some
time in Cleveland. If you
do try and break his heart,
he is yet unmarried.
I have not heard from
your folks for a long time.
We just got home last
night and, this afternoon,
our C.W.B.M. Socy meets at
a sisters about three mi.
in the country where supper
will be served for all the
church that will come and it is
already late to get ready to go.
Tomorrow, we are to go
to Austentown for over Sun.
Do you think we go enough?
Etheline Well has four little
teeth and is sweetest than
ever. She is creeping. Her
Papa gives her walking lessons
every night we are at home but,
don't allow her to have near all her
weight on her feet. I must close.
Will try and write more another time.
With love and, [ ?],
will close. Hoping to hear from
you soon. Alice

Dear Cousin Edith:
Your kind letter
received some time ago and
have put off, from time to
time, to answer it until
I, today, resolved that I would
begin, at once, to write if
I did not get it finished
today. I hope you are well.
Don't suppose you got any
cholera cases in the [ H ?].
Hope you will be out of that
again next summer. Will
you? Seeing and being
with Edith seems like a
dream of the past. Oh, how
I long to have you with us,
