My dear Miss Hartzell:
Your letter of the 9th Dec.,
still unanswered as far as I
know. Mrs. Stone has been in
bed most of the time the past
six months and quite unable
to keep up any correspondence.
In January last, the 15th, a
nice big baby girl was born.
She went to Lakeside Hospital
in December. Mary Elizabeth
lived five days only, just long
enough to arouse the mother's
love and the loss was keenly
felt and had a severe effect
on her recovery which is still
to come. She was at the hospital
five weeks, her first sickness
