Your most delicious and welcome Christmas Box arrived safely, and believe me, before the day was over, the contents had disappeared, alarmingly. You used to complain of my poor appetite, but oh, you should have seen the ruin it left of the products of the De Grandy Ranch.

brew and drink, (a goodly number of gallons,) except for the few occasions when I made a mad dash and secured the tea or coffee pot myself. I certainly will let Mother share some of your wonderful oranges. They are the nicest I have seen or tasted for a long time.

Now since you have been so kind to me, I am going to insist that you keep your promise and allow me to send some of the products of our Ranch to you. I am mailing a list, and should you find anything in it you care to have, make a list of it and I will be only too glad to forward whatever you wish.

Heard from a friend that you have been having a great deal of rain in Calif. So far, we have had practically none, and I don't want to see any, as it delays our work, and, of course, this is our busy time.

I am alone on the Ranch. My brother, Guy, having moved into town to help with the sales, so I have plenty of work to do, but then I like it. Please write and
