Ft. Kamehameha

Dear Friend:

Received your interesting
letter while away on a trip with the
company. We were supposed to do some
observing for the 5.5.th Artillary [Artillery]
but it rained most of the time.
Therefore, our mission was a failure.
Broke camp about four oclock in the
evening and took us until the
next evening to get back (30 mules).
On the whole trip we were gone
fifth-four hours and got two hours
