Dear Lis: -

I'm [[struck text]: having]] hearing come swell chorus music & it is very loud & clear. But to proceed.

Did you get a phone call from Bill tonite asking you to go to a dance at some country club Saturday nite? Saw him at endeavor last nite. Said he wanted you to go with him & wanted to know for the...(40-11th) time when the tonsils were to be released. Told him didn't know. I said

not to plan on you too much & he said - well to be frank (or tell the truth) he wasn't. After C.E. last nite we (Bill & Jonnie Blanchard, Seatty & Dorothy Kaltin, Mina & Carl, Bryant & I (i) & Dm S.) went to Miriams for a "sing." Mrs. S. has been sick so she laid on the davenport (with) a) between a comforter & had a [illegible] red kimono on & a pillow under her head. I sed she would have a relapse & she sed no she enjoyed it & was lonesome. Bryant & I left first - also the last to arrive there. We left a teeny bit after nine & I tried to "chase" him some as we got home but it was 9:30 when he left & he should have been home then. Sat. nite about 9:15 he

called up wanted to know what I was doing & etc. & said he was coming up (or that he would) but would give another O-ring before he came but 'bout 9:30 here [[inserted above]: he]] and Scotty came (& with out another O). Said they were going after Jean (she was at Jobs daughter installation at masonic temples). So we finally started - tho twas 'gainst Ma's wish with the exception of "around the block." Scotty had never been at the temple so finally he found her & appeared out of the dark. We had her car so we had to [[struck text]: take]] go down to her place 1st. It was just 12:00 when I got home - (when I closed the house door). Well! - There was no church last nite & a "Temperance" man spoke in the AM. He was an

ex-missionary-(home) so he wasn't so bad. Gave a sermonette & applied [[struck text]: probition]] prohibition.

The enclosed is self explanatory. The gifts are to be use or useless & Miriam that they would [[struck text]: the]] pass around #s (numbers) & everyone got a present.

I don't know whether we are to ask a boy or to go alone. She didn't say & I didn't ask & Brant said he didn't get an ("invite"). He is going to give me a O sometime during the week & (maybe come over). Must ask him why all the "rush." Ha ha. Sat nite had his dads car & last nite his & so we went in ours (brot [brought] mother home 1st). Bill & Scotty [[struck text]: came]] were with him so he had the rest of the kids to

"deliver" before he got home. Oh! Yes, he has charge of their new branch [[inserted above]: except when the general or field manager isn't there]] office opened up in the Huntington hotel. AHem! There is a girl & another boy. The boy writes on the board. Saw Andy just a minute after church yesterday. Asked him if he was going "visiting" last nite. Sed that his sister & children would be over & I added - so you'll stay home & play with them. He gave me a hit with his $$ paper & beat it. He sat with Helen [Wernlays?] & Paul Allen in church & I with Mable & Norma Parker. Not many out for church.

Dad has a cold (but not the flu as yet). Must beat it as I want get this off tonite if I can. 7:20 P.M. "Love in Haste" AG over
