- well - Alfred is a very fine boy and is doing well in school.

My wife, Gladys, has had 13 lower teeth extracted and the poor girl is having quite a time of it. So sorry to hear of Uncle George being so ill - lets hope an operation wont be necessary at all.

Glad and I expect to have Aunts Mary - Emily - Tom - Helen - Alfred here at our house for Thanksgiving Day.

Yes, the election was a big surprise and I agree that no party should be in power too long a time but the majority must be right after all and I think that Pres. Truman will be much better this new term with a more agreable Congress.

when I see the folks Ill let them read your letter. Really, Aunt Edith I dont think that the E. Palestine business will ever mean much to any of us - it seems so distant if you know what I mean.

However if we do benefit anything from it, fine! if not lets not be surprised either way.

such a short visit. I never hear from Tom or Ray [Hartsough?] except at Xmas, when I get a card.

The same for Amy and Jack Smith I never hear from them.
