of March and the following Saturday was the funeral and he was put in the vault and last Sunday wsa taken out and burried in a nice family lot which Mother bought. it was just like another funeral when he was buried. I couldn't go, but Sadie was there and just a few of their friends. So, Edith, I know you won't feel hard at us for not writing sooner, will you? Edith, Sadie thinks the dishes just, lovely, and apreciates everything you have sent her and now she is almost through house cleaning and was wishing today that you could see the house while everything is nice and clean. I tell you what she has got things fixed nice and we have got a nice little home and, , happy, , and many times obliged for the dishes.

Jennie is at our house now. Came out yesterday on my day off and is going home tomorrow. She said Ma is well, as usual. She said I suppose you know they had a fire over there, but it didn't amount to very much, I guess.
Louise came out this evening to see how we are as they haven't seen us for sometime. She was saying they were down to the cemetery today to see father's grave and put some flowers on it. They visit him often. Edith, I tell you, [here?], is a family, [to?] I, see how a father is missed. It seems as though they can't get over it but is is the same end that we all have got to come to.
Edith, we had an awful rain here yesterday. Downtown, the streets were filled with water and hail so that the sewers wouldn't carry it away fast enough and it backed up over the sidewalks and flooded the basements of the stores and buildings, so the loss will, no doubt, be great.
