I did not send my letter yesterday
as I hoped to hear from home by last
nights mail, but was disappointed
So I guess must finish this and
send it to the Empire City.

I received your long letter written
the first of Sept. while we were at
Nicholsville. I received a letter from
Mary last week she had just arrived
in Boston she sent me Father's &
Mothers pictures I am sorry to see
Father looking so thin Mother is
looking quite fleshy remarkably so
for her at this time of the year

Mary writes me that you intend
to stop in NY. city for a time perhaps
all winter I hope you will get a good
chance there with Mr. Atwood I
think it must be easier than
the pork business in Boston
