My ever {Dear} Aunt,

I know not what excuse I could possibly make to you for my very long silence that would be deem'd perfectly true, had you not spent a few days in my family, & seen how very few minutes I have to devote to my amusement, for its certainly a great relief from the cares of family concerns - to sit & converse with my pen to my friends - & believe me you my {Dear} Aunt stand first & very high in my affections. I was very much gratified last night in my Dreams - for I was with you in Hopkenton went to spend the day with you, I remember very well I was in fine spirits - & some how when I am with (you) awake I am more gay than usual. I reflect with peculiar satisfaction on the short time you passed with us, & some times fear that we shall never return your visits. We were at our Brothers in the town where you reside but could not leave home over night, & we had quite a ride to take in one day.

that rendered it impossible for us to see you, but you cannot tell how I wish'd & long'd to see you - I saw a person Who gave me some news concerning you which wh was a great pleasure to us, - I have not visited any one of the Brethren & Sisters of our family since you (left us) I have been twice to Lexington (since) you went from here - Betsey returned from Marble Head last Sunday left (Mrs Harris), Patty, & her Daughter Caroline very well -- but Mrs Greene has a very bad cold & little Lucy is quite unwell - Mrs Gree [hole left by seal] Mrs Fammy is very well - poor Lydia! I thin [hole left by seal] her fate is hard to have sickness added to her anxious & troubled mind -- Betsey says they are in a very good way of business -- but I doubt not you have better information from themself themselves than I at this distance can give you -- but I know my {Dear} Aunt your attachment to all your Brothers family & this that makes me write - knowing you do not

view with indifference any (thing that) concerns any of theirs, my Father has had this cold that every one has this way. I hope he is better - I hope you have escaped this severe cold - Mrs Fiske has had it for almost a fortnight in getting a little the better of it I hope - I begin to feal it a little but have faith to believe I shall not have it so bad as people in general -- Miss Cook & her family are pretty well they often enquire after you but I am not able to give them any information because I hear nothing myself. It would be a great pleasure if you would got any person to write a line to me to inform me of your welfare. tell Miss Beckey Jones with my love to her, it would quite revive my heart to have ofone of her good letters - my love to Mrs How if you please I hope I shall have Sometime the pleasure to see them - adieu I have not time or I would coppy copy this for I fear it is almost impossible for any one to read it - but you are candid my {Dear} Aunt & will not illegible pardon all faults -- Mrs Fiske joins me in affectionate regards to you, with sincir wishes for your Happines I am

Horatio – Your uncle Harry is to give you some money for me – You will take out what you want -– We expect you will come up, on Thursday – There will be a considerable show of military maneuvers, such as on the water & on the land - such as a naval engagement, or sea fight (between) menotomy fleet & gun-boats – Indian Canoes &c –

We should be glad to have (you) come, in the forenoon, if you can – if not, as soon after, as you can – If you have no other way to come – You had better hire a horse from some stable and come horseback or in a chaise, with any person you w have a mind to bring --

Your's affectionately {Thaddeus} Fiske
