Watertown, June 1st, 1819 ~
The Church of Christ in Watertown to the Church of Christ in West Cambridge, under the pastoral care of {Reverend} Mr. Fiske, sendeth greeting,
Reverend and Beloved,
Having in the holy providence of God been deprived of our late respected pastor by death, and having made choice of Mr. Convers Francis to be our Gospel minister, and he having signified his acceptance of our invitation, we have appointed Wednesday the 23d. {Instant} for the day of his induction into the sacred office. On which occasion we request your presence and assistance by your pastor and a delegation. –
Wishing you grace, mercy and peace in Jesus Christ our Lord, we are your brethren in the fellowship of the Gospel.
