Petals Corol. yellow, under leaf veined with with black or deep purple the others very small fine stroke or veins of purple. The horn or spur is very blunt & short —
Root — fibrous — Stalk round hairy as large as a pipe stem 8 or 10 inch high — Leaves Cordate — 4 inch wide 4 1/2 long — large veins, deep upper & promonent underside — indented stand single on ye stalk with long pedicles — 2 small ovate leves at ye ala one on each side ye pedicle — from ye ala rises ye flower stalk, small round 2 inch long on wh stands flower Capsule triang — seeds numerous, ovate white — as large as mustard adhering to ye angles of ye capsule —
This is a very large & beautiful species of ye Violet Grows in shady woods — rich soil — found it at John Woodberys

Femalie Flower — no Calix or corol. in those I exam — perhaps fallen —
Germ. bunch of oblong or rather oval striated seeds from 4 to 8 or 10 — fastened to ye recepticle which is very small & stand in a globular from —

Stalk round hard, hallow — size pipe stem — excedingly branched & jointed — at each joint of ye main stalk are sent off leafy branches — ye Pedicles of which inclose ye branch & form a kind of knob — with a leafy or husky apendage surounding ye stalk on ye uper part forming a cavaty from wh ye stalk seems to rise still higher From these Cavities in ye ala of ye leaf branch rise ye flower stalks wh also send of leafy branches The leaf branches wh rise from ye main stalks are again divided into 3 branhes & sub-divided. The leaves are winged with an odd one — the leaves having long pedicles
The leaves have not an it intirely regular form — Approachn. to a roundish form. having 2 deep sinuses — towards ye apex — which is blunt, & 2 dents on each side — & an in dent below each sinus — [drawing] The flower pedicles are long & a number [drawing] arise from ye same center.

Seed — Germina a double Capsule containing a great Number of cylindrical or ovate, seeds — seem to be covered with small tubicles —
