145) very minute green body, with ye styles inserted, one on each side, just below ye apex. Styles & stigmata dark red, or purple.

On each side ye Germ. rises on oblong, compressed body, of a twice as long as ye Germen. These may be capsules described by Gaertner V. II. p. 57 & 58. Tab. 90. but there is no= =thing like ye calix he has given in his figures, nor any resemblance of ye amentum, or capsuls gaping above ye calix.

Seeds I have not seen. It appears to me not to belong to this genus — on ye calix & numerous filaments are wanting in ye male — and — ye 4 leaves — probably ye many seeds in ye female. Vide Marshall. No doubt he describes ye same shrub.

146) nearly answer, if not entirely to ye Gen. Chr. of Myrica Gale. And as far as I have yet compared — ye female agrees also — but they are of different classes — one Monoecia & ye other Dioceia.
