Stephen Elliott Esquire

Dear Sir,

I have this day rec'd from — Messrs Schenck & Turner fifty copies three numbers of your botanical work. Will you be so good as to send me the subscription list adding to it the names of the persons I desired you to add. Mr. Robert Cled Clendenin of York has also desired I would put his name down on the list. Messrs Morgan and Quirey booksellers in this place asked me if they were not intitled to some deduction for having subscribed for ten copies, as they did not suppose they — could sell it for more than one dollar per No. As they have subscribed unconditionally, I could say nothing satisfactory to them. Be pleased to let me know your will on this subject. When I have recd the money, shall I send to you and to Messrs Schenck and Turner who, in their letter to me call themselves your agents?

I am watching the blooming of the Apocynum with a cordate leaf & shall get samples of it in 2 or 3 days.

I am very respectfully, Dear Sir, your obed. servt.
