North Carolina General Assembly

The General Assembly 14 Dec 1787 Whereas or both have represented to this General Assembly that the claimants and holders of Lands entered in the late office of John Armstrong at Hillsborough have evaded or refused to return such Land in this lists of Taxable property upon the pretence of being Coveted by an Act of the last Genneral Assembly

Resolved that the County Courts be directed and required to instruct the persons who take the lists of Taxable property within their respective Counties to require by advertisement all persons holding such Land to make immediate return thereof under the pain of being prosecuted for a [full?] return and the Justices of the served Counties are hereby expressly required to see this resolution carried into effect By adn Alex Martin S.S. Jno Sitzreaves S.C.
