Falmouth, the 6th, April 1686
Whereas we the subscribers were appoynted by the Governour & Company of Massachusetts to lay out for Capt Joshua Scottow five {hundred} acres of land on any free place in the Province of Main, these are to certify {that} we layd out on a block of Land, commonly called Marikanoog Neck in Casco Bay, the abovesaid tract, bounded as followeth, Beginning at a Red Oak tree marked on the four sides, bearing north east northerly from Pullpitt Island, coming in at [Stow?] Damarascove Sound, & also to run from the abovesaid marked tree north west & by north, to run over the first creek unto a little river commonly called Little or Crooked Lane. Also to run upon from the first said Red Oak marked tree northeast up by the water side up the bayward, to come up to Sandy Poynt taking in all that small point of marsh or meadow;-- Further to run up from the [mouth?] of Little River or Crooked Lane northeast into the woods, & so far up along fronting to the bay at Sandy Poynt to run on a parallel line untill two hundred acres be expired being added to above parcel to make up the above summ or quantity. In witnesse hereof we have hereunto sett our hands.

[left hand page] At the Genirall Court [illegible?] at Boston. By the [Crown?] & Company of the Massachusetts Bay 24th of May 1685.
Whereas in answer to the petition of Capt. Josphua Scottow for payment of two hundred [ ? ]pounds claymed by him on {account} of his disbursements by him made in the last Indean warr the Genirall Court in the year 1684 granted him in full of all his demands five hundred acres of land to be layd out in the province of mayne in any [?] place, which [?] not being [?] said Scottrow is incapable of receiving benefit thereby. This Court [? ] hereby confirms the abovesaid grant of five hundred acres to him his [? ] and assigns forever Capt Edward Tyng & Mr. Dominus Jordan are impowerd to lay out the abovesaid grant. This is a true copy taken out of the court book of records as [ ? ]
