Has death dissolvd those bands that heav'n tied
And made two souls one common sacred care,
That now thou leav'dst behind a part in tears,
Exposed to malice nursed in treachrous man,
And she alone to stand, almost desolvd;
Perhaps would joy to meet this gloomy scene
And rise with the to palaces above ~
Didst thou not hover round thy offspring dear
Or stand spectator at the mournful scene,
Where half disolv'd in grief, their tender cries
Seem'd fraught with pow'r to urge thy spirit back
Resolv'd to hold the fast & break the grasp of death
With soft intreaties dazzling in their eyes,
Incessant strugling to detain thy flight;
Distraction reigns in ev'ry face bedewd,
With tears, & wild suggestions baleful dart,
Forboding ill & pregnant with distress,
Replete with all the charms of youthful fire,
That usd to kindle up the blaze of love,
