Unraveling fast annihilations ball,

And by a more inactive pow'r produced,

A system all complete; which skill divine

And that alone could plan the grand Machine

And give it laws of natures birth,

That to obedience bind its vast domains ~

If such a depth of wisdom was requird,

The pow'r how vast & uncontrold appears?

To execute the plan that chains this world,

To what? to nothing, or an empty void,

And there sustain the pondrous weight emmense,

And in the swiftest whirl preserve intire,

The grand machine from stragling from its place

Or tumbling into universal wreck ~

Nor doth thy creed confess a God supreme,

Ascribing all that is to giddy chance,

And this the origin of worlds thou,

Which might, or might not yet been calld to life
