Than just to revel on the dream of gold
Or pleasures sparkling in the lap of ease,
Which once enjoyed, have nothing then to please,
But instant loose their worth & rob the mind
Of bliss possessd, that shone a joy refind,
When coveted & absent from the heart,
That eager rushed to grasp the sordid part;
With toil immense & anxcious fears that urge,
And in distracted hurry make the drudge,
Forget the rational of men that shines
With full orbd reason drawn in fairest lines,
When like himself he acts without disguise,
And feels himself divine with glad surprise ~
Horatio, mind the gayities of time,
May lead your stragling thots from truths sublime
Till in the lap of luxury you drouse,
Or drop to sleep profound, that naught can rouse
Thee up, or wake thy senses to prepare
For solemn scenes, that will terror stare,
