never let us think that we can join in to get
things so insociable, godliness & wicked
ness. what communion hath light with
darkness. Grace must have all or none
If Sin comes in (to the throne) grace goes
out & sin hath all to itself.

11. When we confirm ourselves in our sin
because of some humane laws which
may seem to favor them; tho yet ind
they only tollerate them & not allow them
Thus the common usurer supports
himself by this "Why, the law allows
ten in the hundred: yea, but the law
only stints & limits it to ten in the hundred
& so far gives way to it for the prevent
ing of a greater mischief: And this wil
not be eno' to excuse the usurer in the
court of conscience. Thus the Jews de
cieved themselves in the matter of thi
Poligamy in having many wives; &
their divorces for every trifle; they thot
Moses's laws had allowed them in these
sins: whereas our Saviour sheweth
Moses only gave a tolleration because
of the hardness of their hearts. So as to
maintainance of the ministry, this God
law reguires, & such as excuse themselves
from it because not compeld to it by hu
mane laws, may not be excused from sin
