Sir:
Being sensible no Novelty can be more grateful to you than to hear of my safe Arrival, I have Embraced this Opportunity (tho a very Oblique one) to Acquaint you hereof; which tho but in a General Intimation, yet Intend (God willing) in my next to Give You a Succinct Journal of my Voyage, of ye Joyfull and Affectionate Reception I met with upon my Landing here, & of ye Satisfaction I at present take in ye Enjoyment of my Relatives and Friends. In ye Interim shall Referr You to ye Inclosed directed to my Grand-Mother for your manual Delivery.
Tho Effect, left with You Conjecture e're this your Disposal of, so desire you would remitt their Produce, with what Debts you have Received, according to ye direction left with You. I am now from ye Assistance my Father affords me, & ye Encouraging offers he yet Tenders, fixing my Self in a Merchantile life & have very promising Views of an Answerable succor to ye Scheme laid ; however if any of Your or my Friends are for Adventurin this way, I am Concious there are none here in a better Capacity to Serve them than my Self, which you may hint at every Opor -tunity that shall propitiously occur. And you may assure your self, I shall studiously Promote your Interest now, with Relation to Consignments in ye most pressing Recommendation I am Master of & if I can any ways be further Serviceable to You, Please to Lay your Commands with ye greatest Freedom on,
