Gray Reviewing my Euphorbia with the lights of Boissier I find the following specimens received from you

"{Euphorbia} adiantoides" Wright, Nicaragua — is {Euphorbia} astroites Fisch & Mey. (Boissier Nro 200) Wilkes Expl. Exped. No. 1. {Euphorbia} multiformis var tomentella, Boiss 2. {Euphorbia} cordata Meyer 3. & 4. {Euphoriba} clusiifolia 5. {Euphorbia} celastroides Boiss 6. {Euphorbia} multiformis glabrata (I have little doubt though no seed) 7. in part = 1, part = 5 (1 pubescent, 5 smooth) 8. I take to be a new species between {Euphoriba} celastroides and {Euphoriba} multiformis, which I would name {Euphorbia} lorifolia. Could you send me capsule & seed? Pray, do! 9. 10. and all those from the Corn islands are {Euphorbia} chamissonis Boiss 11 12 {Euphorbia} atoto Forst from Fejee 13 Euphorbia taitensis Boiss. I have received the same from you formerly at {Euphorbia} atoto from Taili without name of collector. 14 from Matia = 10 15 & 17 Samoa & 16 Mindana = 12 {Euphorbia} atoto Wright, from Leo Choo is not {Euphorbia} laevigata = laevis but {Euphorbia} halophila Miq (all too closely allied!) as also a good many others of Boissiers species) Fendlers Venezuela 1203 not quoted is No 236 {Euphorbia} gollmeriana Kl. Your {Euphorbia} gollmeriana is fide Boissier No 627

{Euphorbia} sieboldiana

Among a lot of Hay from western Missouri a nest with a few nice things, among them Amphiachyris dracunculoides which I did not know to grow so far North & East.

The seeds of Jussiena are so different in different species as to require examination, and afford fine characters for sections.
