Time speeds on. I have taken charge of
a large collection of autography letters of
Dr. Gray, as Mrs. Gray's request, to arrange
for presentation to the Herbarium.
Prof. W.J. Beal dined with me to-day.
E.L. Rand was here yesterday with Mt.
Desert plants.

Dec. 27.
Cambridge, Mass.
Mr. Morong dined here to-day. I called on
him this A.M.at 755 Tremont St. He is on
for a few days from N.Y. He is now Curator
of the Columbia College Herbarium, and he
will write & do other work too. He has
no end of stories to tell.

Spent the day with J.R. Churchill
over his collection for the year. Good time.

Dec. 29.
H.W. Henshaw dined with us to-day.

Jan 2 — 1891
J.M. Coulter dine here to-day. He is spending a few
days at the Herbarium working on J.D. Smith's Compositae
from Guatemala. Dec. 31 I wrote an Article on Native New
{England} Orchids for {American} Garden. Have received plants lately from
Mr. Wm. M. Canby, five, Mr. K.A. Taylor [Galtisum?] 2nd (rather poor), ML
Fernald, [Grona ?] (poor).
