School is over! Vacation has
begun — I celebrated the event
with a bicycle spin this P.M. be-
tween 3 & 5. I went over to Medford
& Malden by the horse car track. There I
took Highland Ave. over Mystic River to Mystic
Ave. then through to Broadway by Mt. Benedict
where the Ursuline Convent stood. The
hill is now being removed, as Fort Hill
in Boston was. I took Broadway, climbed
Winter Hill and turned in at the Old
Powder Mill House, and came straight
home — Total distance 15 miles.

Glorious day. I wheeled to Concord this A.M.
to Miss Buttrick’s where we go on Sat. for a month.
Wm & Mrs. Brewster & Miss Simmons are there. I started
at 9.50 and reached Concord Center at 11.37 and Miss
Buttricks at 11.45. Total distance 17 m. I went by
Brattle St., Lexington & Concord Ave. Wellington & Pleasant Sts.
to Arlington, East Lexington, Middle School Marret Sts.
& Lexington Rd. then by the Manse to the Buttricks. I had to walk
¼ mile in Arlington where the road is cut up. Nice time home by train.
Left my bicycle. All were very kind to me.
