Glorious cool day. This A.M. I wheeled to
Cambridge. I did enjoy every inch of it.
I went by Lexington Road, Marrett School,
Middle Sts., East Lexington, Arlington, Pleasant
Wellington Sts. concord Ave. Reservoir St. Fresh Pond Lane.
Distance 16 m. Found Mother & Mary. George has
gone yachting. Staid to dinner. Took the bicycle up
into the 3rd story at mother’s and stored it
away till my return. I think I never regretted
giving up anything more. We leave here Aug. 1st
for Jaffrey N.H. It does not pay to take a wheel
there. Called on Dr. & Mrs. Coolidge. Drove to Porter’s
Station and took the 4.12 train for Concord. Called
on Mrs. Boyd, but did not see her. Miss B. not much better.
At Concord, met Miss Kettell & Mr. Jefferson. Walked to
Heard’s Bridge. Met Pat and the dory. Rowed some way
up the Sudbury & Assabet. Reflections fine.
Tea on Egg Rock. Marjie, Carrie & Will there.
Home by 8. Time of wheeling 1 hr. 43 m.
