Fine day, rather warm. Read a good deal
this A.M. “Abbott”. This P.M. Will & I rowed
as far as “Egg Rock”. I raked up a good
lot of Vallisneria, hunting for ♂ flowers. Found
none. Walked 2 m. this evening with M. & others.
Vallisneria spiralis, L.
Concord River. No ♂ or ♀ {male or female} flowers.

— Jaffrey, N.H. —
Here we are again. Spent the A.M.
at Concord, packing and doing errands in the
village. Called on Miss Purdie. Took the 3.43
train and reached here safely. Almost every-
body here is an old friend

— Aug. 2 — Jaffrey, N.H. —
Glorious, clear day. Stayed about the house
to-day, unpacking, reading, walking to P.O. &c.
Flew the kite for the young people. This
evening walked down to Mrs. Wesselhoeft's.
Pleasant call. Walked back with Tracy Hoppin.

Fine clear day — Very dusty. Wrote letters
and read this AM. Drove with Mrs. Wesselhoeft,
Dr & Mrs Willie W. this PM. for 1 1/2 hrs. Walked
2 1/2 m. with Margie to-day.

Pleasant day. Walked to P.O. in AM with M. and to the
Ark in P.M. with M. Finished "Abbott" to-day
Terribly dusty. Did nothing of importance.
