Dear Dr. Van Waters.
I have just finished re reading your last letter of March 27.
As it was such a nice letter, I feel that I must write again soon
as possible. Is everything going well with you? Perhaps your
new work keeps you too busy. I shouldn't like that.
Another of you books arrived. "The Gardner's Omnibus." This
is an excellent book of information and ideas, containing the
latest hybrids. I am afraid to think of what it must have cost.
You are a very dear friend, and have proven it so many times in
many ways. Anything I could say would not be enough - not nearly.
Tomorrow is Easter. I suppose your girls will enact a beautiful
play, followed by plenty of eats and possibly games of some sort. We may
have an egg, followed by a religious service, which will be alright.
I never pay much attention to holidays. We have a service each week.
A new visiting room is going up rapidly. You and I might have a
better visit in it then elsewhere. An out of state visitor is allowed two hours.
There is some talk of baseball this year, but nothing definite as yet.
My Sister quit school which is annoying news. Something is
wrong, as she always liked to go, but this year she has hated it. She
would have been a senior this June. Dad isn't earning very much.
I expected a letter from you last week. Sarah's being home on
vacation is not doubt the explaination. You did the sensible
thing in spending your spare time with her. I hope both of you
enjoyed yourselves.
