Dear Dr. [1947-48?]

Wondering about this news in the paper and hope it doesn't upset you. If you were well I wouldn't give it another thought because you always know how to handle it and you really seem to enjoy a fight. What I want to know is if I can do anything at all? You might be able to use me some way and I don't care what is said about me or what the outcome is for myself if it would help you. Should I write to the Commissioner? I hate to think of what Miss [Scalchrom?] will say because I know she doesn't approve of your program and is so stupid she really thinks she could run the place better than

you can and Miss O Keefe gives her a lot of authority. Dear Dr. I believe I could convince any one if I had a chance to tell all that I've seen there and maybe upset[?] some stories that some of your staff may tell. How could they listen to a girl like that and some former employees that couldn't make good. Dear Dr please let me know if I can help and I'll do any thing. Icould tell truth and be believed but I'm afraid of your staff now and I know you trust some of them to much. How are you dear I'm so worried about you. Please let me know Love Mae

Sat night 10/26/53 Dear Dr.

Thank you for taking me to Sarah's grave. I am so thrilled that you would let me share such a deep and personal thing with you. You are the only person in the world today that I really love enough to want such closeness with. I've loved a few other people that are no longer here so this feeling is not new to me. And I recognize it easily. Dear Dr. I have been writing letters to you for 15 yrs and never mailed one because I never wanted to intrude on your busy life. I know how important your time is and I've mourned and cheered with you always. Please try to spare me the time for one talk before I leave. Gratefully yours Mae Clark

Dr. dear

I'm so happy today to know that Victoria was pardoned. God Bless you Dr. for your fight. You must be happy to know that you were succcessful at last. I have some idea of how hard you did fight and I don't know how to say how I feel but just thank you dear Dr. If Vicky is still there tell her I'm glad for her. I love you for all you have done and for what you are. Sincerely Mae Clark
