Jail Mother
In Baby Death

LACONIA, N. H. (AP)_A di-
vorced mother of two girls, who
abandoned a third child to die in
a snowdrift last March 3, was
sentenced four to ten years in
State Prison.

Sentence was imposed by Justice
Harold E. Westcott on Mrs. Lona
Lloyd, 32, of Sanbomton, on rec-
ommendation of Deputy Atty. Gen.
William S. Green.

WHen Mrs. Lloyd appeared in
superior court she changed a for-
mer plea of innocent to a charge
of murder, to guilty of first degree
manslaughter.

The state charged Mrs. Lloyd
abandoned an infant, to which she
gave birth unattended a few hours
earlier, in a snowbank.
