I have to little plants and boy is one growing fast. The other one isn't growing so fast. I love plants. do you like them? I think they are so pretty when they are all in blossom or if they are just a growing ivy or something.

Well I guess I'll close for now. so until I have more to say and until I hear from you I remain as ever

Yours Always Mary Murphy Bette

Miss Bette Murphy 2 Federal Street Boston, Massachusetts

Dear Bette:

I was so pleased to receive your letter, and to hear all about you and your plants. I know they must be beautiful.

You will be interested to know that we have had another very successful play, which was well attended. I am enclosing a program for you to read.

It's nice to know that you are getting along so well, Bette, and please write to me any time as I will always be interested in hearing from you. It is very enouraging to the other girls to know that the ones who leave can get along so well.

Sincerely yours,

Miriam Van Waters, Superintendent
