drove them back to Hull and the last I heard they were doing well. I made a personal contact with Mrs. Fahey Head Nurse of the State Dept. whereby, I could send one worthy case to her and she could declare an emergency and place them in the [Washing?] [illegible] for a week. There are numerous other things that I could mention but this much is suffice to prove to you that my heart and soul is in this work of rehabilitation.

Altho, extremely tired and depressed but not sitting in my room crying. The depression is due, no doubt, to the fact that I am mentally + physically exhausted and it is still pouring rain, after so many days plus the fact that I have started my period again.

Did I mention [back?] that my case will be placed before the adjudication board and I will receive back compensation for all the periods that I have been hospitalized - this should date back to 1939 when I u spent [illegible] years at the Brattleboro so "we" will win out dear.

Goodnight Elizabeth

May God Bless + keep you forever. We all need you so much!

to I can see Miss [Sav.?] -- position. She was torn between loyalty to you and also to me for she actually cried when I refused to be recommitted or admitted rather.

The R. F. W. has lost a wonderful "[liason?]" officer between students and adminstration.

April 23, 1953.

My dear teacher, guide and friend,

Is it any wondering why youre students love you so. You're beautiful letter which I received yesterday just warmed the "[cockles?] of my heart." They alone should win you a place in the Diplomatic Corps. You're letter of recommendation was just right - enough and not too much but brining out the salient points - faithful to duty, loyal and most cooperating. She is strictly honest. But the greatest of all this is that you wrote it in your own handwriting - no cold typewriter or dictation to a secretary, of course, to any thinking person this will carry great weight. Oh! we ["librians"?] and our idealistic temperment!

My daughter would have been 23 last Friday and I wouldn't have her back for any selfish reason of mine for the world. Of course, I miss her greatly especially now when we could gradually become such great friends for she had understanding of me far beyond her years but, she is in Heaven watching over her Mom. I tell you this my dear because your beautiful daughter was made of the same "stuff" and I know she is also in Heaven praying for her Mom and watching over her. We mothers
