Dear Sister

We received your letter with Daniels in
due time were glad to hear that you were well. for a
good share of us have been ailing for some time. Abut 4
weeks since mother sprained her ancle, which the Docts say
is more than a break. she has managed to get round
some. but yesterday was the first she has protectended to
walk any on it. thinks it keeps improving--2 weeks ago
to day Uncle John & wife & 4 children came here,
well: we hadent much coocked to I had a nice job
to get dinner &^ supper for my head ached most cruelly--
next morning I was as badly off, but I got bread, pies &c
all ready to bake made beds & swept chambers, by that time it
was about 11 oc and Uncle Albert & Aunt Ann Eliza
& baby came, I set up a while after they came then I had
to beg off, & Father has had to be chief cook and bottle
washer ever since. I kept my bed most of that day &
the next day Friday I was worse yet, took 2 thorough doses
of hygens bu seemingly to no effect, Well Saturday
came, and evry one that saw me, said they never saw
any one have a higher fever--then the question came up
what Doct to have. Rhoda & Elias said Dr Clark,
but said I was getting so bad they would not be satisfied
to wait until he could get here without doing something.
so with my consent they went to putting downthe Lobelia.
(I would have taken most any things I was in such distress
and in the cause of two or three hours I was quite easy and)
