On Jan. 25th the Garden Club met with
Mrs. Ralph Parker. Minutes of the last meeting
were read and approved. Mrs. Taylor repeated that
the school grounds Committee had conferred with
Mrs. Ransom about preserving the dogwood trees at
the Ray St. school, which had been ordered cut down by
some of the school authorities. Mr. Andrews and Mrs.
Tomlinson are going over the grounds and care will
be taken to preserve them.
A motion was carried instructing our Treas. to
pay our State dues $2.50 at earliest convenience. It was
suggested that pro. committee see if they could secure
Mrs. B. Craven to come before our club again. Mr. John
Blair, and Mrs. Tilbitt of Samarcand Manor were also
suggested as possible speakers. It was announced that
Mrs. R. F. J. Johnson of Oak Hill School will be glad
of any shrubs or plants suitable for school grounds. This
was left in hands of school grounds Com. Mrs. A. E.
Tate told of the splendid results from her immense
gladiola bulbs, emphasizing the idea that one gets best
results from large bulbs.
For the program:
Biennials by Mrs. Henry White
Annuals paper prepared by Mrs. Terry
and read by Mrs. White.
Both papers were most helpful. A round table | 71927
