April 8, 1930.

On April 8 the club was called to order by the president in the home of Mrs. W.C. Beavans - the minutes of the previous meeting and those of Feb.11 prev read and accepted.

The corresponding secretary reported that the Iris library is not available until December. She was instructed to ask that that the library be sent us as soon after January as possible:

The treasurer reported $15.09 in hand.

Mrs.G.W.Clark reported on the proposed Bennettsville trip and after much discussion the club decided to give it up. The Flower show at Chapel Hill, May 1, was suggested as an interesting substitute and a much shorter trip. A visit to the Peony farms and Sanford and to [?] Pines to see the orchids were other suggestions. The Club decided to make the visit to Sanford and requested Mrs.Clark to find out when the peonies will be at their best.

Mrs. Virgil Idol, on behalf of the Regional Flower Show Committee, made an earnest plea for careful attendance on committees when called.

Mrs. W.C.Jones and Mrs.D.R.Parker were elected delegates to the State meeting to be held in Asheville May 20th. Mrs.O.P.Moffitt and Miss Effie Cox were named as alternates.
