DEED FROM W. B. McFarland and wife TO V. L. Cooke

Filed for registration on the 19 day of June 1922 at 9:30 o'clock A.M., and duly recorded in the office of Register of Deeds of Guilford County, N. C., in Book No 386 Page 407 etc. R. H. Wharton Register of Deeds.

This Deed, Made this the 13th day of March 1922, by W. B. McFarland and his wife Semyra McFarland of Guilford County and State of North Carolina, parties of the first part, to V. L. Cooke of Guilford County and State of North Carolina, party of the second part:

Witnesseth, That the said parties of the first part, in consideration of ($10.00 and other) valuable considerations to them paid by the said party of the second part, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, has have bargained and sold, and by these presents does bargain, sell and convey unto the said party of the second part and his heirs a tract or parcel of land in the County of Guilford and State of North Carolina, in High Point Township, adjoining the lands of Henry Pitts, Steveson, and others, and bounded as follows: Being lot No.4 in Block "A" in J. N. Campbell division of N. E. Welborn lands, which plat is duly recorded in the Register of Deeds Office for Guilford County, N. C. in Book No.2, page 58.

This lot is 64-1/2 ft. front on Church St. and 64-1/2 ft. in rear, and bounded as follows: Beginning at a stake on Church St., south west corner of lot No.5; thence with said Street South 62 degress 30 minutes West 641/2 feet to a stake; thence North 23 degrees 30 minutes West 82 feet to a stake; thence North 78 degrees East 64-1/2 feet to a stake; thence South 23 degrees and 30 minutes East 75-1/2 feet to the beginning.

The above land was coveyed to grantor by W. P. Ragan See Book No 307, Page 475, etc.

To have and to hold the aforesaid tract or parcel of land and all privileges and appurtenances thereunto belonging to the said party of the second part and his heirs and assigns forever.

And the said parties of the first part does covenant that they are seized of said premises in fee and have the right to convey the same in fee simple; that the same are free from incumbrances; and that they will warrant and defend the said title to the same against the claims of all persons whatsoever.

In testimony whereof, the said parties of the first part have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year first above written.

I, J. W. Tomlinson a Justice of the Peace of said County, do hereby certify that W. B. McFarland and his wife Semera McFarland grantors, personally appeared before me this day and acknowledged the execution of the foregoing deed of conveyance, and the said Semera McFarland being by me privately examined, separate and apart from her said husband, touching her voluntary execution of the same, doth state that she signed the same freely and voluntarily, without fear or compulsion of her said husband or any other person, and that she doth still voluntarily assent thereto. Let the said deed and this certificate be registered.
