they really rob the servicemen out here.
Once in awhile I get a couple of days
off and go to Los Angeles. I was up there
a couple of weeks ago and was at the
Hollywood canteen. I was dancing with
this girl, I danced with her a couple
of dances and then we watched the
show after it was over the master
of ceremonies announced that we had
a famous star with us and named a
couple of pictures she had played in then
he said she was in the crowd and asked
her to stand up. Then the girl I was
with stood up, she was Miss Ruth
Hussey. Was I surprised.

I sure would like to be back
in Carolina but I would have to
get at least a fifteen day leave to
make it and that is out of the question
now. This will make the fourth
Xmas I have been away. I won't
