Dear Eva Unice I am so sorry to hear about Jewel I was here by my self when I heard and all my troubles came back to me wish I could be with you for a few days and if we could get any gas we would come up to see you all. You and the baby come down and stay a few days with me the rest will heel you. We would love to have you if I didn't have to change to go up on the bus I would come that way do write me and tell me all about Jewel and where was he when it all happened poor boy. This is such a [cruel] war. Dont know whether I will ever see Mildred again or not Just trust God to take care of her and I will say a prayer for Jewel love Aunt Lillie
