To Lido B at low tide. Evening found some W Traps! Elegant place.

2-13. Br. at Venice & on to Naples for lunch. Marco before 2. Room being made ready. To beach 2 1/2 miles, left end. Quite windy - some shells. Very comf apt - new & well furnished.

2-14 Up & on beach by 7 - R. sud found w traps in trash. Back in aft - windy & few shells. Scrabble at night.

2-15 On beach early again - lots of w traps - Man gave us live baby's ear. To Naples for lunch. Had Honey washed. Groceries. Neighbors on both sides left. Arranged for Sunday trip to Cocoanut Island.

2-16 Waded near Inn. Huge hermit crab that Prue photoed Then to rig beach

Plenty of tinies. To Collier City to see about boat trip to Romano. In aft to Everglades City, ditto E. Trip. Engaged room for Wed at Sunset Lodge. Dinner at R&G Club.

2-17 To Coconut Isle but no shells. No right blow! Roast beef dinner. New neighbors. Aft & eve at home.

2-18 Tide later ditto to beach. Mrs. J. F. Sanderson became interested in shells, borrowed books.

2-19 At 9 to Collier where girl took us to Cape Romano & left us. lunch on beach. I well covered against sun. Found live crowns but little else different. Sandersons over for drinks. Stone crab! Packed some things.

2-20 Finished packing. Left groc for neighbors who took our apt. To beach where there was more surf than we had had. Ate lunch in car, wind and rain. Took Ever trip in rain & to lodge. Sunset Lodge

Crowd in cocktail pier. We are supposed to furnish liquor as they have no license. Dinner & to bedroom. Mrs. Ward came in for visit till 9:30.

Th 2-21 Rain in early AM. To Chockaloske Island, very old & primitive. Lunch at Oyster Bar - local color interesting & good ham sand! Up Rt 29 to see deserted village & back to Marco Beach. Too windy - bumpy ride back at high tide. Drink in room & early dinner at S. Lodge. They eat & rise late.

Fr. 2-22 Up & off as soon as boat available 7 A.M. Too late for birds on T. Trail. Down keys - left things in room on Largo. Early lunch at Trop. Winds, yummy Keylime pie! On down to Pigeon - deserted since no more tolls. Back to room where we ate cheese crackers and coffee in room.

Sat 23 Up & off by 6. Br at Homestead 2 blonds. On up thru Miami to the West. On new Pky to Pompano Beach. To W. P. Beach Airport where P got ticket for Mon from Jax. Lunch at counter. To see Cousin E. Bowen and on beach at Jupiter - V snails & spirulas. Thru Ft Pierce, crowded with weekenders. On to Vero (Rt 1) where price was hiked a/c scarcity. P took s. pill, I ear plugs, slept fairly well.

Sun 24. Off late, enjoying beaches along way. At Melbourne Prue phoned to reserve room at St Aug. & a good thing too. Rain & roads crowded around Daytona. After that we made good time. St Aug by 6:15.

M. 25 - Donuts & coffee brt to door at 7. Prue to beach & came back after me to see foam sliding & rolling up beach. We got some pictures. Sylvan Court, St Aug Beach. 10:00 br, on thru St Aug. Stopped at several places but no shells. To Besers in Jax for Red Snapper. Thru Jax to airport - plane late. Pr

hated to leave. Couldn't get Ruth so came on anyway. She & Tab in Jax! Night at Seaview Motel at Fernandina. Rain.

Tue 26 Called Ruth after br. & went right on down. Busy day, to hosp, invited to lunch & cards tomorrow, bought dress, made hair date, had hamburgers & back for nap. Neighbors in at night. Beach walk in late aft lovely colors.

W. 27 Cloudy day. Hair cut & shampoo in the morning, then to lunch & cards with Sadie Cooper & Hesse Laviere - good time & high cards. Rain at night. Dr Dunn here to see Tap. Old Chicago days talked over but he was there long after I was.

Th 28. Ruth to church meeting. Dinner at home. Card club at 2. Miriam & girls over to see shells in late aft. Sea food dinner at Sand Bar. Called Prue. Talked till late. Got rain coat from motel.
