By invitation I went to dine with
Mrs. Dinwiddie last Wednesday they had been to
Mrs. Daltons the night before Mr.
D. seemed to think she had got
-ten more good out of the Fair
than any one he seen could tell
more about it spoke of a very pretty
fan she brought as a souvenier they
also told me the Rev. Mrs. Dalton
was here, had been in town a week
I felt a little hurt that I had not
heard from her, that night I sat
on the piazza till ten oclock hoping
she would pass from prayer meet
-ing and I would have her stop and
spend the night with me but it
was cool and damp and I felt
that I was taking cold so I went
to bed and left them singing
