Home May 22nd 87.

Dear Mother, I thank you for your remembrace of my birthday 41 years. An Umbrella Hughes thought fitted me better than a hat a more efficient shelter from rain or sun.

Charlie Kempton called at the Store yesterday is well so is his folks. Lillie Hawes married a deaf mute last week I think, he is a type setter earning earning about $20.00 per week they commence housekeeping on a small scale. Coz. Mary gave them a purse with 100.00 in gold therein. Shubael seems satisfied with the affair

but think of the children if they should have any. Last Sunday night Mollie Frankie & I went over to Lincoln Park Congl. Ch. 20th aniversary excercises formation of the S. S. I met many old acquaintances & was glad we went. Lula & Florence left for Winston last Tuesday & H. has word of their safe arrival. Hughes came home with me last night & will go to business with me Monday A. M. My Stenographer left on the 14th I think will try & get along without one this Summer but it comes hard to handwrite so many letters. H. Frankie and I went to 4 paws Circus last Thurs night "I asked my Mudder for 50 cents to see the Elephant jump the fence he jumped so high that he touched the Kky and he didn't come back til 4th of July" is Gracies refrain.

Zeb. was lost last Thurs & Frankie told me on the train coming from the Circus that Zeb had been killed by Policeman the children not only ours but the neighbors were much distressed at the report of a dead dog like Zeb being seen by some of the children, but he met us at the door when we came home. A Telephone message came about 8 p.m. from the corner Drug Store from Oakland saying Zeb was there. Tillie

& May went for & brought him home. The Police have strict orders to shoot all unmuzzled dogs on sight & he is so smart that he will dig under our fence & get out & he delights in running away. I'm afraid we loose him some day.

Mollie is in the midst of house cleaning. We are not able to have any thing done to the house this year. Aunt Kempton was in the Store a few days since was looking well. The children are all well. We do not plan to go away this Summer. My visit east will be later than usual. With love to each & a Kiss for the baby from Yours Geo. F. Fisher.
