North Carolina, Guilford County.

This Deed made this the 30th day of June, A.D. 1916, by Mrs. Bettie Corbit, Administratrix of E.T.Corbit, deceased, mortgagee, and Mrs. Bettie Corbit, Guardian, of Alberta Corbit, Assignee, of Guilford County and the State of North Carolina, party of the first part to R.R.Ragan, of Guilford County and the State of North Carolina, party of the second part,

Witnesseth, That whereas Fred Alford and his wife Peggie Alford executed and delivered to E.T.Corbit four notes, secured by mortgages on the land hereinafter described--One dated August 27th, 1912, and duly recorded in the Office of Register of Deeds for Guilford County, N.C. in Book, No.239, Page 454; One on March, 20, 1913, and duly recorded in the office of the Register of Deeds for Guilford County, N.C. in Book, No.247, Page 210; and another on June, 5th, 1913, and duly recorded in the Office of the Register of Deeds in Book, No.251, Page 22; and still another dated July, 7th, 1913, and duly recorded in the Office of the Register of Deeds in the Book, No.251, Page 222; And whereas the said E.T. Corbit has died since the execution of said bonds and mortgages, and the said Mrs. Bettie Corbit was his duly appointed and qualified Administratrix; And whereas on the 12th day of May, 1916, the said Bettie Corbit, Guardian, of Alberta Corbit; And whereas a power of sale is given in said mortgages in default of payment of principal and interest when due; And whereas the said Fred Alford and his wife Peggie Alford failed and refused to pay off said bonds and interest when die, and the said Mrs. Bettie Corbit, Administratrix, as aforesaid, and the said Mrs. Bettie Corbit, Gaurdian as aforesaid, after advertisement made according to law of thirty days in the Review, a weekly newspaper, published in High Point, Guilford County, North Carolina, at the Court House door, and [added by hand] four

the last and highest bidder, at public auction for cash on the premises, on Saturday, June, 24th, 1916, at 2, o,clock, P.M. when and where R.R. Ragan became the last and highest bidder at the price of Eight Hundred and Fifty Dollars ($850.00) and became the purchaser.

Now therefore the said party of the first part, in consideration of the sun of Eight Hundred and Fifty Dollars ($850.00) to her paid by the said party of the second part, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged has bargained and sold, and by these presents does bargain, sell and convey unto the said party of the second part, and his heirs, the tracts of land embraced in said mortages, to-wit; Being in High Point Township, Guilford County, North Carolina, adjoining the lands of G.O.Hayworth and others and bounded as follows; Being Lot No,5 as per the Plot of lands of G.O. Hayworth in the city of High Point, N.C.. Said lot being located on the South side of Leonard street and being 64.75 feet in front and 54 feet in the back, and 243 feet deep, which said plot is duly recorded in Register of Deeds office for Guilford County, N.C. and being the original Home Place of Fred Alford, and wife in the Eastern part of the city of High Point, N.C. Also Lot No.5 in Block "F." Size 50 by 125 feet as shown on the Plot of Ed and D.O.Burns re-subdivsion in High Point, N.C. Recorded in Plot Book, No.2, Page 48, Register of Deeds Office for Guilford County, N.C.

To have and to hold the aforesaid tracts or parcels of land, and all privileges and appurtenances thereunto belonging, to him the said party of the second part, and his heirs and assigns forever, in as full and ample anner as the mortgagee and assignee are empowered to convey the same.

In testimony whereof the said party of the first part has hereunto set her hand and seal, the day and year first above written.

I, Will P.Ragan, a Notary Public of said County and State do hereby certify that Bettie Corbit, Administratrix, of E.T. Corbit, deceased, mortgagee, ad Bettie Corbit, Guardian, assignee, grantors, personally appeared before me this day and acknowledged the execution of the foregoing deed.
