The Tresure gave a very detailed report of the money taken in and spent which was more fully explained by following reports.

Mrs. Frank Carricker reported the splendid results of the "Have-A-Heart" Drive and the many ways in which this money had been used to a great advantage was explained by Mrs. Sechrest, Chairman of the Social Welfair Committee and by Mrs. Schroder in her report of school conditions.

A report was given on the membership by Mrs. Hartley, Child Welfare Magazine by Mrs. M. J. Crowder and outline for Child Study Program announced by Mrs. C. C. Hayworth.

Following the announcement of the P.T.A. Convention in Charlotte and the coming of Richard E. Byrd to High Point, the meeting was turned over to the program chairman.

America was sung by the audience led by Mrs. Conrad and a most enjoyable Founder's Day Program in the form of an original playlet intitled "February The Month of Birthdays" was given by Miss Butler's fifth grade. Many familiar characters - historical and story book and including Fanny Hurst and other outstanding leaders in the Parent-Teacher movement were presented.

The meeting was adjourned with the end of the playlet.

The last meeting of the Elm Street Parent-Teacher Association for the school year 1935-36 was held May 12, 1936 in the school auditorium.

In the way of business came the nominating committee's report by Mrs. M. J. Crowder. The slate presented and adopted was as follows:

Mrs. R. H. Sechrest - President Mrs. Edgar Hartley - Vice-President Miss Mary Clegg - Treasure Miss Lois Grier - Secretary

The new officers were then introduced to the association.

The meeting was turned over to Mrs. Dan R. Schroder who was in charge of the program for the evening.

Mrs. Schroder presented the following song program by different grades of the Elm Street School.

The first group given by the three first grades under the direction of Miss Rebecca Curtis [sang "Peep Said the the Little Bird" "Morning on the Farm" and "Johnny-Jump-Up"

The three third grades rendered the second group of songs directed by Mrs. George Campbell. [their numbers were "Robin's Song" and "Bon - Bons".

The last group of selections was presented by the Glee Club and directed by Mrs. Schroder, who has worked up this club of partsinging among the fifth grade children. [The first number "Peace" was sung by the Girl's Glee Club. "Spring Time" was the sung by the group after this Vesta Straten sang as a solo "Little Mother." The last

number by the group was "Mother O' Mine."

Mrs. Fred Ingram, Program chairman, now presented Dr. T. Wingate Andrews who spoke briefly but informingly on the coming school election and what it means to the community of which the School is a part.

Following Dr. Andrews, Judge Lewis Teague addressed the parents and teachers on the same subject but from the stand point of a parent and of what this extended term would mean to the children of High Point.

The meeting was then adjourned.
