Went over on Drexel Boulevard only three blocks away, of course conveyances were passing constantly but there was no crowd. Returning found it was 9 o'clk and soon retired after giving and receiving a good night kiss for you and asking for you Our Father's choicest blessing The cool breeze and deep quiet soon lulled me to sleep, "to sleep but not to dream", was too tired for that. it has a pretty cherry set, large plate glass mirror. and here I am writing, for the sitting room is sunny in the morning and I would have to look out of the window too often. _ Woke about 5 o'clk, and soon rose feeling much rested and still more so after my bath, which I was too tired to take the night before, and was in haste to finish lest I might be in H's way. Was all dressed even to my hat by 6 o'clk. Pretty soon H. was ready and we went over on Drexel again this time to the flower beds. They are in all their glory, how I wished you could see them with me. coleus; mounds of cannas sunflowers and tiger lilies make a gorgeous show. Was quite surprised to see a number of humming birds flashing their gems among them. The residences on the Boulevard are magnificent, land there is worth $500 a front foot, but I paid them little atten tion this morn. Suppose we walked about a mile and a half, I tell you I was ready for breakfast at the boarding house.

Went in to G's a few minutes to see if Lily's trunk was ready for shipment. It took me far away to see Grandfather's and Grandmother's portraits and the old clock once more. Didn't go up stairs but sat a few minutes in Sister's chair in the bay window, it seemed to have a magical power to rest.

On Sat. the stores close at 1 o'clk so H. said I should meet him at 43d St. Station and we will see a little of the Fair. (The train passed between Midway and the Ex. grounds I was on the M. side and wouldn't look at the Fair buildings as I didn't wish to spoil my first impression. The Ferris wheel can be seen afar it was slowly turning) After coming back to house I undressed put on my little pink jacket in which I had to sleep last night (had to laugh at the comical figure I cut) and took an hour's nap— so you see I have a little self control yet - then seated myself to write and listen for the bell announcing the coming of my trunk. Will mail this when I go

to the Station. Don't you think I am getting a good start? then when G comes and I meet the rest of our folks that will be fresh pleasure to add to the sight seeing. The Sat. Herald will tell you what are the special attractions for to-night. (See top of 1st sheet)
